Twitter Boosts Search Engine Result For Cashtags

Posted by

Twitter is updating the user experience for cashtags, revealing prices charts when users click on the symbol of a major stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency.

Including a dollar check in front of a stock or currency sign, like $AAPL, creates a clickable cashtag.

Previously, clicking a cashtag would take you to a standard set of search engine result including popular tweets.

If you wished to learn the existing value of the stock or currency, you had to go to another website to get the information.

Now, you can get the info you’re looking for right away with updated search engine result for cashtags.

In addition to clicking on cashtags, you can trigger the brand-new search experience by searching for the signs with or without the dollar indication.

Twitter says it’s presenting this feature with the major symbols initially, and will broaden its coverage of symbols in the coming weeks.
